On 16 February, 2021, the National Peace Council honoured two of its staff who retired in 2020. These were Mr. Sulley Sumani who served as the Executive Secretary of Central Region Peace Council, and Mr Peter Atta Agboso as the Executive Secretary of Eastern Region Peace Council.

In appreciating their diligence to work and service rendered to the National Peace Council, a befitting send-off ceremony was organised by the Peace Council at its Headoffice in Accra to honour the retirees.

The Chairman of the National Peace Council, Rev. Dr Ernest Adu-Gyamfi on behalf of the Council presented citations of honour and undisclosed sum of money to the two retirees. Also, current Executive Secretaries across the regions honoured their retired colleagues.

The retired staff were encouraged to utilise any untapped talents to impact on the National Peace Council and the society, while they enjoy their retirement.

The retirees indicated their availability to support the National Peace Council whenever the need arose.

The Send-off Ceremony organised by he National Peace Council was the first of its kind and hoped its establishment will continue in perpetuity.
