Commemorating the third anniversary of the Peace Pact between NPP and NDC in Ghana
Esteemed Citizens of Ghana,
Today we reflect on a significant milestone as we commemorate the third anniversary of a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, the signing of third peace pact. The presidential candidates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) did the symbolic signing. Three years ago, amidst political tensions, the parties courageously came together under the guidance of the National Peace Council (NPC) to chart a path towards peace and understanding. The commitment demonstrated by the flag bearers, John Dramani Mahama of the NDC and Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo of the NPP, in signing the peace pact stands as a testament to their dedication to fostering tolerance and ensuring that differences are resolved through dialogue and legal regime rather than taking it to the streets. This milestone reminds us of our collective responsibility as Ghanaians to uphold peace, especially as we approach the electoral process. Our actions, our demeanour, and our acceptance of the election outcomes reflect the strength of our democracy. Let us embrace the spirit of unity and tolerance, understanding that in every contest, there are victories and losses. As a nation, our greatest victory lies in upholding peace, harmony, and the wellbeing of our beloved Mother Ghana. Our families look to us, our communities rely on us, and our nation needs us to embody gracefulness and dignity in accepting the outcome of the electoral process. Together, let us reaffirm our commitment to a peaceful, free, and fair election process a testament to our unity as Ghanaians.
May peace prevail, now and always.
