NPC partners NCCRM, NCS on Conflict Mapping
The National Peace Council (NPC) in collaboration with the National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism (NCCRM) and the National Catholic Secretariat (NCS) have shown committed to deepen understanding of conflicts situations in the country and ultimately prevent them.
The partners who made the commitment at the maiden meeting held-on Friday 28th March 2025 at the NPC Conference room, centered on developing National Conflict Mapping in Ghana and its importance.
Besides discussing areas of collaboration and the expected outcomes, the partners discussed the scope and key focus areas of the conflict mapping exercise.
Dr. George Amoh, Executive Secretary who commended the initiative shared the efforts of the Council in developing a Conflict Map in 2014 and had a version online which is inactive now due to funding deficit.
Giving the background to collaboration, Rev. Fr. Micheal Quakoe, Director of Governance, Justice and Peace Department at the NCS, stressed the need to work together to ensure the fruition of the project.
Col. Emmanuel Sampson, the Director of NCCRM said the collaboration to develop a national conflict mapping aligns with his outfits mandate of gathering early warning, and assured working with the stakeholders.
