Mr. Paul Okpoti Akornor has been in the field of Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution for the past decade. He holds a Master of Arts in Peace and Development Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Study of Religions from the University of Cape Coast and the University of Ghana, Legon respectively. He has also participated in many Seminars, Conferences, and Workshops to enhance his capacity in the field.
Mr. Akornor together with the Regional Executive Secretary in the Volta Region worked assiduously from 2013 and facilitated the establishment of the maiden Volta Regional Peace Council in 2014 and two other Councils in 2018 and 2022.
With the creation of the Oti Region in 2018, he was posted to the newly created Region on 1st November 2022 and was charged to set up the Regional Peace Council in pursuit of the Council’s objective as enshrined in the Peace Council Act (Act 818).
The Oti Regional Peace Council has since been established and inaugurated on 17th May 2023. The Regional Secretariat is fully operational and manned by two staff.
