The National Peace Council(NPC) in collaboration with the National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanisms (NCCRM) and West Africa Network for Peace Building (WANEP) held a multi-stakeholder interactive session to strengthen partnerships for the prevention of conflict and violence in Elections in Ghana.
The Objectives of the interactive session are as follows:
To support stakeholders to identify key challenges within the democratic space and proffer solutions to ensure peaceful electioneering processes in Ghana.
To strengthen collaboration and partnership among WANEP, NPC, NCCRM, and key stakeholders to contribute to peaceful elections and democratic transition in the country.
To popularise the mandate and activities of NCCRM and NPC in Ghana.
The one-day interactive session had participants drawn from state actors- Electoral Commission, NCCE, CHRAJ, National Media Commission, and National Security. Others include the Office of the Attorney General, The Ghana Police Service and civil society groups such as FOSDA, Abantu for Development, CDD-Ghana, IDEG, Youth Bridge Foundation, National and Regional Early Warning and Elections Response Group and Media.
