Mr. Sulley Sumani
Mr. Sulley Sumani is the Regional Executive Secretary (RES) of the National Peace Council (NPC) in the Central Region.
Mr. Sumani’s main specialties are in conflict resolution and peacebuilding; and a consultant in humanitarian response programmes for conflict ridden areas and natural calamities. His job requirement is to support the Central Regional Peace Council to facilitate and develop mechanisms for conflict prevention, management, resolution and to build sustainable peace. He also conducts trainings, stakeholders’ engagement and support for mediation efforts of existing and potential developing conflicts in the region.
Mr. Sumani holds a Master of Arts degree in International Development and Social Change from the Clark University, Worcester, Central Massachusetts, USA in 2005. He is also a product of the Cranfield Disaster Management Center of the Cranfield University in the United Kingdom in 1997 and a first degree graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana.
Mr. Sumani started work as a Project with the Agricultural Development Bank and moved on the join the Ghana Red Cross in Accra as a Projects/Logistics Officer and subsequently became a deputy Secretary General/Coordinator for humanitarian response in conflicts and natural calamities. He took up his present position as an RES with the NPC in late 2013.
