Celebration of International Day of Peace 2023
The Western North Regional Peace Council marked the International Day of Peace at the Assembly Hall of the Wiawso College of Education (WATICO) on the 21st September, 2023. In his opening speech, the Omanehene of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area, Okatakyire Kwasi Bumagama II, who chaired the occasion expressed his pleasure of being part of the program and assured all participants that, he has the peace of the region at heart. The Chairman of the Regional Council also called on stakeholders to make peace a priority and contribute towards its sustenance. Marked under the theme, Collective Action for Peace: Our Ambition for a Peaceful and Developed Western North Region, brought participants from five (5) educational institutions, political parties, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Queen mothers and Chiefs from three paramountcies, security agencies, media, clergy, Eminent Members and staff of the WNRPC. On the day, there were four (4) speakers who spoke on various themes with the ASP Amoah delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Regional Commander. In his address, he called on politicians and stakeholders to work towards attaining and sustaining peace in every aspect of our daily lives because it is only that, can we attain development
