National Peace Council Partakes in A Consultative Meeting to Develop Ghana’s National Action Plan On Youth Peace And Security
As part of measures to establish the nation’s commitment to empowering its youth, the Executive Secretary of the National Peace Council joined stakeholders to commence the development of a National Action Plan (NAP) on Youth, Peace, and Security.
The UN Resolution 2250 calls for the development of National Action Plans on Youth, Peace, and Security, to provide a framework for governments to address the unique challenges faced by young people and harness their potential as agents of positive change.
In a speech, Mr. George Amoh urged stakeholders present to understand the value of youth as vital human resource however the approaches to managing the youth would determine whether the youth would be a valuable asset or potential liabilities. He added that the National Action plan when established would address the challenges faced by youth in conflict and post conflict areas
