Central Regional Peace Engages Ekon MA Basic School on the Dangers of Involving in Vigilantism
On January 24, 2024, the Central Region conducted a comprehensive peace education session at Ekon MA Basic School. The focus was on the dangers of involving in vigilantism, emphasizing key aspects of Act 999. The session addressed the disbandment of existing vigilante groups as mandated by law.
Students were reminded of the legal implications, stressing on the severe penalties for contravening the regulations outlined in Act 999. The council emphasized the importance of discouraging any form of support or association with vigilante activities.
Furthermore, participants were informed about the disqualification from holding public, political or political party offices for those convicted of engaging in vigilantism or aiding such activities. “Always remember that your future holds great potential and as students, resist any persuasion to participate or join vigilante activities” a council member emphasized.
