As part of its mandate to facilitate and develop mechanisms for conflict prevention, management, and resolution and to build sustainable peace in Ghana, the NPC reach out to community members in Juaboso, a Western North Region hotspot, to educate and raise awareness among some selected participants and stakeholder about the dangers of violent extremism and terrorism, particularly in the lead-up to 2024 general elections.
The engagement brought stakeholders whose roles are critical in achieving the objective of the forum. Some of the outcomes include;
- enhanced understanding among political party actors about the impacts of electoral violence.
- establishment of a collaborative framework among political parties, state institutions, traditional and religious authorities aimed at preventing violence.
- Strengthened resilience against divisive political rhetoric and actions.
