Peace Begins with the Youth!

On Friday, 30th May 2025, the Ashanti Regional Peace Council, In collaboration with the Small Arms Commission held a powerful Peace Education and Sensitization Programme at Duase M/A Basic School.

With over 300 enthusiastic students in attendance, the session focused on: The importance of peaceful coexistence in schools Non-violent approaches to resolving conflicts The dangers of illegal possession and use of small arms and light weapons Key messages from the day: “Conflict is inevitable, but violence is preventable.” – Rev. Emmanuel Badu Amoah, PhD, Regional Executive Secretary, ARPC “Let’s start peace education early our youth must be part of the solution.”

Mr. Emmanuel Kenneth Oduro, Acting Regional Director, SALW As part of the initiative, Peace Ambassadors Clubs are being established in schools to nurture a new generation of peacebuilders who will champion tolerance, dialogue, and security in their communities.
