Volta Regional Peace Council Engages Sokode SHTS Students on Peace Education

On 7th July 2025, the Volta Regional Peace Council (VRPC) held a peace education and sensitization outreach at Sokode Senior High Technical School, aimed at promoting nonviolence, tolerance, and effective conflict resolution among students.

With over 150 students and staff participating, the session focused on:

  • Raising awareness about the National Peace Council’s mandate,

  • Equipping students with conflict resolution and early warning skills,

  • Encouraging the creation of a peaceful and inclusive school environment.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Regional Chairman, Rev. Godswill Elorm Courage emphasized the school’s role in shaping peaceful leaders and highlighted recent incidents underscoring the need for such interventions. He called on students to become peace ambassadors and assured the Council’s ongoing support to the school.

Other dignitaries included Dr. Ayaakor Dela Enuameh-Agbolosoo and staff of the VRPC, who engaged students on practical strategies to reduce campus violence and build mutual respect among peers.

The event marked a significant step toward deepening peace education at the grassroots level and fostering safer, more tolerant learning environments in the Volta Region.
