Statement of Condolences by the National Peace Council Governing Board
Chairman on the Tragic Helicopter Crash in Adansi
Accra, August 7, 2025 – The Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Peace Council
(NPC), Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu has learned with shock and deep sorrow of the tragic
helicopter crash near Adansi Asokwa, which claimed the lives of 8 gallant Ghanaians,
including Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence; Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala
Mohammed, and Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation.
The Chairman conveys his deepest commiserations to H.E. President John Dramani Mahama
and the Government and the bereaved families of the gallant men in the tragic accident. The
Council equally solidarizes with the Ghana Armed Forces and the National Democratic
Congress.
