Key Highlights from Remarks

Dr. Joyce De-Graft Acquah emphasized the importance of peaceful conflict management:

“Conflict is natural and inevitable, but violence is a choice. Students must understand that peace begins with how they manage disagreements and relate to others. Choose dialogue, forgiveness, and tolerance over violence. Let us all pledge to be upstanders, not bystanders, and stand for peace in our schools and communities.”

Mama Awotsu Adzagba II cautioned against gender-based violence, stressing the importance of mutual respect and accountability:

“Gender-based violence, especially rape and defilement, destroys lives and futures. Respect yourself and others, speak up against abuse, and report it immediately. True peace thrives where there is safety, respect, and equality. As young people, you are the custodians of peace — protect it with your words and actions.”
