Project Objective
The Ashanti Regional Peace Council (ARPC) has organized a Peace Education and Sensitization program for students of Junior and Senior High Schools in the region.
The initiative aims to:

Educate students on how to identify and prevent any form of conflict or violence within their schools and communities.

Establish Peace Ambassadors Clubs in J.H.S and S.H.S institutions across the region.

Promote peaceful coexistence among students by equipping them with the skills and knowledge for non-violent conflict resolution.
Expected Outcomes
Through this initiative, the ARPC seeks to:

Equip students with non-violent methods of reacting to and resolving differences.

Improve understanding of peaceful coexistence and strengthen youth participation in conflict prevention.

Develop a critical mass of future adult peacebuilders capable of making meaningful contributions to peace in their communities.

Highlights from Keynote Addresses
Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Badu Amoah emphasized that:
“Conflict remains an inevitable phenomenon in every society and has become equally an important part of human existence. We can build a stronger, more resilient and better society when we inculcate the act of tolerance, sacrifice, empathy and peaceful coexistence among the youth.”
Nana Opoku Fofie added that:
“Everyone is important in the peacebuilding process, especially the young ones. They are a dynamic group in society and can play crucial roles in positively transforming conflict situations into a democratic and peaceful society.”
Participation
The program brought together over 350 students, administrators, and teachers from the Asem Mixed Experimental Junior High School, alongside officials from the Ashanti Regional Peace Council.
The Council reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing peacebuilders among the youth, fostering a generation that values dialogue, empathy, and peaceful coexistence.
