A stronger public understanding of digital violence and its harmful impacts.

Key Speakers and Dignitaries
The discussion featured:
-
KTU Station Manager
-
Mrs. Dorothy Ofori Ntriwaa, Council Member
-
Osmond Appiah Danquah, Program Manager, National Peace Council – Eastern Region
During the keynote session, Mr. Osmond Appiah Danquah stressed that violence against women and girls remains a societal challenge that affects families, communities, and national development. He emphasized that digital platforms—social media, messaging apps, and online communities—are now major spaces where harassment, intimidation, impersonation, and exploitation occur.
“Digital violence is real violence and must be treated the same way physical violence is treated,” he noted.
Mrs. Dorothy Ofori Ntriwaa highlighted the social attitudes and harmful norms that enable abuse to persist. She encouraged open communication in homes, digital responsibility in schools, and community support for survivors.
“Survivors must know they are not alone—help is available, and communities must offer compassion rather than judgment,” she added.
