Peace Education and Sensitization for Students in J.H.S & S.H.S
On 30th September 2025, the Ashanti Regional Peace Council (ARPC), in collaboration with South Suntreso SDA Junior High School, organized a peace education and sensitization program aimed at equipping students with skills to prevent conflict and embrace non-violent approaches in resolving differences.
Project Objectives

To educate students on how to identify and prevent any form of conflict or violence in J.H.S and S.H.S across the region.

To establish Peace Ambassadors Clubs in schools.

To promote peaceful coexistence among students by equipping them with knowledge and skills for non-violent conflict resolution.
Expected Outcomes

Students equipped with non-violent methods of resolving differences.

Improved understanding of peaceful coexistence and youth participation in conflict prevention.

Development of a future generation of peacebuilders capable of making a lasting impact in their communities.

Keynote Highlights
Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Badu Amoah reminded students that conflict often begins with perceptions, feelings, and actions, but the best prevention lies in respecting and understanding others’ views. He urged the youth to embrace tolerance, reject violence, and maintain positive attitudes at all times.
Nana Opoku Fofie emphasized that peace requires deliberate effort, stating that a harmonious, inclusive, and peaceful society can be achieved when young people are educated and empowered to see themselves as key stakeholders in peacebuilding.
Participation
The event recorded active participation from over 400 students, teachers, and administrators of South Suntreso SDA Junior High School, alongside the ARPC team.
