The Central Regional Peace Council (CRPC) engaged students of Moree Senior High Technical School on the Implications of Violence in Schools with a focus on the Vigilantism and Related Offences Act (Act 999).
The session, held on 26th November 2025, aimed at raising awareness on the consequences of student violence and promoting peaceful conflict resolution among young people.
Dr. Charles Ohene-Amoh, Regional Executive Secretary of CRPC, encouraged students to choose non-violence, reminding them that while the law punishes harmful behaviour, its broader purpose is to guide society toward safety and harmony. “Violence destroys opportunities, but peace protects your future,” he emphasized.
The engagement provided students with:
- Improved understanding of the legal implications of school-related violence
- Knowledge on non-violent conflict resolution
- A renewed commitment to responsible behaviour and reporting
Participants included the Central Regional Peace Council, school administrators, teachers, and over 500 students of Moree SHTS.
