Research, Monitoring & Evaluation

The Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate of the National Peace Council is responsible for the conduct of research as well as monitoring and evaluation of the activities of the Council to build sustainable peace in Ghana in line with the mandate of the National Peace Council.

The directorate performs the following core functions:

  • Provision of inputs for the formulation of policies
  • Ensuring the preparation of the strategic plan of the council
  • Coordination for the development of guidelines and strategies for the conduct of research
  • Coordination for the timely preparation, production and dissemination of fact sheets, policy briefs, research findings, reports and peer-reviewed articles
  • Supervision of the development of research agenda, research proposals and the preparation of resource mobilization plan
  • Conduct of research
  • Coordination of other divisions and external bodies in identifying areas of research
  • Conduct of the monitoring and evaluation of the programmes and activities of the council
  • Development of guidelines, strategic and performance indicators for the monitoring and evaluation activities of the Council
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient management of data on the Council’s activities
  • Preparation of the annual reports of the directorate
  • Preparation of the annual workplan and budget of the directorate
