The Executive Secretary (ES) of the National Peace Council (NPC), Dr. George Amoh, and Senior Management staff called on the Inspector General of Ghana Police Service (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, at the Ghana Police Head Quarters discussed pertinent issues bothering on the just ended 2024 elections, peace and security issues.

Dr. George Amoh commended the IGP for professionalism and peaceful way the National Elections Security Task Force (NESTF) members contributed to the conduct of the successful elections on December 7th, 2024.

In his remarks, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, thanked the NPC for the visit and God for guiding the country through the peaceful elections. He also commended the rank and file of Officers for buying into the National Elections Security Taskforce strategy which was geared toward protecting the sanctity, stability and peace of the country before, during and after the election.

He stated that the readiness of the Police Service to further engage to address the other election security related issues.

Among issues discussed at the meeting included the stalemate on the Ablekuma North elections result.

The visit which forms part of the NPC’s broader post elections engagements with key stakeholders, had Mr. Frank Wilson Bodza, Deputy Director for Conflict Management and Resolution; Madam Janet Sarney Kumah, Director, Capacity Development and Outreach; Madam Rita Benewah Yali, Deputy Director Administration & Human Resources.
