National Peace Council promotes Peace at Ahmadiyya Jalsa Salana Convention
The National Peace Council (NPC) has underscored the need for religious tolerance as a collective tool to enhance peaceful coexistence in the country.
Dr George Amoh, Executive Secretary of the NPC made this observation when he joined the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana to celebrate their 93rd Annual National Convention (Jalsa Salana) at Gomoa Pomadze on the theme: “Moral Decadence and our Responsibilities in the Light of Islamic Teachings”.
He noted that the Ghanaian society could nib the immoral behaviours of citizens in the bub when we promote values that encourages religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence and national cohesion.
Dr. Amoh further stressed that the Council has developed documents (including guidelines on hate speech and intemperate language and the memorandum of understanding to guide religious tolerance in schools), aimed at promoting peace and social cohesion.
As part of the Council’s commitment to peacebuilding, and promoting sustainable peace in the Country, the Executive Secretary shared copies of the documents to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission to guide their work.
