International Women’s Day Radio Discussion Promotes Women’s Empowerment in Eastern Region
In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Eastern Regional Peace Council (ERPC), in partnership with KTU Radio, hosted a radio discussion aimed at promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. The interactive program brought together community members, stakeholders, and ERPC officials to raise awareness about the critical role of women in leadership, governance, peacebuilding, and national development.
Objectives of the Radio Discussion
The discussion focused on:
- Raising public awareness on the significance of International Women’s Day and its relevance to gender equality.
- Promoting increased participation of women in leadership, peacebuilding, and community development processes.
- Highlighting women’s contributions to social, economic, and national development, while encouraging supportive attitudes toward gender inclusion.
Expected Outcomes
The program aimed to:
- Increase public understanding of women’s vital roles in decision-making, peacebuilding, and development.
- Raise awareness of the social and economic benefits of empowering women and supporting their active participation in national development.
- Strengthen commitment among institutions and individuals to promote gender inclusion, equal opportunities, and respect for the rights and dignity of women and girls.
