SHEIKH ARMIYAWO SHAIBUBOARD MEMBER

Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu is a Muslim cleric, an imam and the official spokesperson for the National chief Imam. He is the nominee of the National Chief Imam, to represent the Tijaniya Muslim Community on the governing board of the National Peace Council.

As an Educationist, Sheikh Shaibu served as a professional teacher at Sefwi-Wiawso Training College. He taught for more than two decades until he retired as the Regional Manager of the Islamic Education Unit of the Ghana Education Service in the Greater Accra region in 2017.

Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu who attended the University of Ghana and studied Religions and Psychology, is also a member of the National Chief Imam’s Advisory Board. For more than two decades, Sheikh has served as a member of CODEO Advisory Board and was elevated to become acting Co-chair for more than three years.

Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu is also the Principal Imam of Masjid Dare salam and a guest Imam at the Al Aziz military mosque at Burma camp and the National Police Mosque at Cantonments, Accra. He is an active and passionate advocate for peace and inter-faith dialogue and harmony in Ghana, working closely with the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference and the Ghana Pentecostal Council.
