NANA EFFAH-APENTENGBOARD MEMBER

Nana Effah-Apenteng is the Bompatahene of the Bompata (Amantena) Traditional Area in the Ashanti Region since 1976, and the Deputy Chief of Staff at Otumfuo’s Secretariat, Manhyia Palace, Kumasi. He is also a member of the Standing Committee of the National House of Chiefs and Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs respectively.

At the National House of Chiefs (NHC), Nana Effah-Apenteng is the Chairman of the External Relations Committee; Member of the Judicial Committee; and Governance and Development Committee.

Nana Effah-Apenteng holds a master’s degree in African studies from the University of Ghana (UG); a degree in Political Science from UG, and Diploma in Public Administration from GIMPA. He also holds a certificate in International Relations from Oxford University UNK.

Nana Effah-Apenteng was Ghana’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, New York, 2000 and 2007; Chief of Staff of the Panel of Eminent African Personalities (comprising Kofi Annan, Benjamin Mkapa of Tanzania established by AU to mediate Kenya’s post-election crisis (2007/2008). He was also the Chairman of the Board of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) 2017-2024 and member of the Board of the Middle Belt Development Authority (2017-2024).
