NPC joins the NCCE to address the media and Promote Peaceful Elections in 2024
In a concerted effort to ensure peaceful elections and maintain national harmony, the National Peace Council (NPC) has joined forces with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE). NCCE aims to address the media and sensitize the public on crucial initiatives undertaken as Election 2024 approaches.
The NCCE organized a media briefing session to shed light on their ongoing efforts in fostering peaceful elections. Spearheading their “Violence-Free Dialogue Campaign” across various regions, the NCCE has been proactive in creating an environment conducive to free and fair elections.
Adding weight to these endeavors, the National Peace Council, renowned for its mandate to resolve, manage, and prevent conflicts through dialogue and mediation, stood alongside the NCCE in addressing the media.
Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, a distinguished member of the NPC’s board, emphasized the importance of responsible journalism, urging media practitioners to refrain from sensational reporting that could incite conflict.
Moreover, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu issued a poignant appeal to the youth, urging them to exercise mindfulness in their words and actions leading up to, during, and after the 2024 general elections. Recognizing the pivotal role of the youth in shaping the nation’s future, this call for restraint and conscientiousness underscores the collective commitment towards a peaceful electoral process.
