National Peace Council Commences Dialogue efforts at Nkwanta

The National Peace Council (NPC) has started mediation efforts to address the Adele, Akyode and Challa conflict in Nkwanta with a dialogue underway with the groups.

The dialogue is geared towards guiding the parties to find common grounds to promote reconciliation, harmony and resolution for sustainable peace.

The Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Peace Council, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu in a remark urged the participants to actively work together to promote harmony, peace and progress.

Bishop Fianu explained essence of good communication in peacebuilding and its role conflict resolution.

Likewise, Mr. Peterkin Yentumi Gyinae, Chairman of the Oti Regional Peace Council, also noted that there is no winner in war, adding that the negative effect of conflict was far greater than the gains.

He stressed the need for peace which is priceless and for the ethnic group to work towards conflict prevention, peace and reconciliation.
