Western North Regional Peace Council Promotes Diversity, Inclusion and Personal Safety Among JHS Students

The Western North Regional Peace Council (WNRPC) has engaged students of Mummy’s and Daddy’s School Complex as part of its peace education and sensitization programme aimed at promoting diversity, inclusion, respect and personal safety among young learners.

The programme, held on 16th July 2026 at the school premises, focused on helping students appreciate differences, prevent bullying and exclusion, and develop awareness of measures that promote personal safety and security.

The engagement sought to create a safer and more respectful school environment where students understand the value of diversity and embrace peaceful coexistence.

Addressing the students, Mrs. Elizabeth Boduwah, Ag. Regional Executive Secretary of the Western North Regional Peace Council, encouraged students to view diversity as an opportunity to learn from one another rather than a source of division. She cautioned against tribal prejudice, discriminatory attitudes and divisive language, noting that such behaviours weaken unity and social progress.

She urged the students to become ambassadors of inclusion by respecting differences, promoting dialogue and working together to build harmonious communities.

Mr. Shadat Fusseni, Assistant Programmes Manager, educated students on personal safety and abduction prevention. He advised students to remain vigilant, maintain open communication with parents and school authorities, and avoid actions that may expose them to unnecessary risks.

He cautioned students against interacting with unknown persons online or offline, sharing sensitive personal information on social media, or revealing details such as home addresses and daily routines. He encouraged them to use safe routes, move in groups where possible and report suspicious activities to trusted adults or relevant authorities.

The programme brought together staff of the Western North Regional Peace Council, teaching and administrative staff, and students of Mummy’s and Daddy’s School Complex, reinforcing the importance of empowering young people with the knowledge and values needed to become future peacebuilders.
