The Western North Regional Peace Council (WNRPC) organised sensitization programme for students of Bodi Senior High School

The Western North Regional Peace Council (WNRPC) continued its peace education outreach with a sensitization programme for students of Bodi Senior High School on 31st July 2026, aimed at strengthening conflict resolution skills and promoting peaceful coexistence within the school community.

The engagement focused on equipping students with practical approaches to resolving conflicts through dialogue and mediation, reducing bullying and violence, and fostering teamwork, mutual respect, and a culture of peace among students.

Speaking during the programme, Elizabeth Boduwah, Acting Regional Executive Secretary, explained that conflict is a natural part of human interaction, but the manner in which it is managed determines whether it leads to peace or violence. She encouraged students to communicate respectfully, manage their emotions, avoid gossip and insults, and embrace dialogue whenever disagreements arise. She stressed that listening, empathy, and focusing on solutions are essential skills for preventing conflicts in schools.

In his remarks, Maulvi Zacharia Arthur, Eminent Member of the WNRPC, emphasized the importance of respecting diversity in religion, ethnicity, culture, and background. He encouraged students to embrace tolerance, inclusion, and mutual respect, noting that unity in diversity strengthens relationships and contributes to a peaceful and harmonious learning environment.

The programme brought together officials of the Western North Regional Peace Council, teaching staff, and more than 400 students of Bodi Senior High School. The sensitization forms part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to nurture a generation of young people who are committed to dialogue, non-violence, and peaceful coexistence in their schools and communities.
