MOST REV. EMMANUEL KOFI FIANUBOARD CHAIRMAN

Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu is the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ho and the Vice President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC). Bishop Fianu was a member of the immediate past NPC Governing Board.
He holds a Doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, Italy and a Licentiate in Biblical Science from the Pontifical Biblical University, Rome, Italy.
He also obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Religious Administration from the Institute of the Congregation for Institutes of Religious Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, Rome, Italy.
Prior to his ordination as the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ho on 3rd October 2015, Bishop Fianu was the Secretary General of the Society of Divine Word (SVD) in Rome, Italy (2006-2015). He was a Lecturer in Biblical Science and Languages at the St. Victor’s Major Seminary, Tamale (2000-2006) and a member of the SVD Provincial Biblical Pastoral Ministry Team (2000-2006), after Acting as Rector of SVD Collegio del Verbo Divino, Rome, Italy.
He was the Coordinator for the Formation in Africa and Madagascar (2001-2003) as well as the SVD Zonal Coordinator for Africa-Madagascar Zone (2003-2007). On 20th April 2016, the late Pope Francis appointed him the Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Keta-Akatsi. In 2016 he was appointed the Chairman of the Volta Regional Media Advisory Committee. Bishop Fianu was the Episcopal Chairman for Health and Episcopal Co-Chairman for Laity of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference. Bishop Fianu was part of Africa’s delegation to the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in Rome which concluded on 27th October 2024.
